This Privacy Policy explains how MagicHop ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when travelers use the MagicHop client portal.

Information We Collect

  • Account data: name, email address, and profile image from Clerk authentication.
  • Trip data: itinerary details, notes, documents, sharing/invite status, and notifications provided by your travel agent or related users.
  • Device and app data: push notification token, app usage diagnostics, and request logs for reliability and security.
  • Location data (optional): approximate or precise location when you choose to use map and direction features in the mobile app.

How We Use Information

  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Deliver and synchronize trip content across devices.
  • Send trip-related notifications and service messages.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and fraud prevention.
  • Support account management, including account deletion.

How We Store and Process Information

MagicHop uses service providers to operate the app, including Clerk for authentication, Postgres for primary application data, Vercel Blob for uploaded trip documents, and Expo push infrastructure for notifications.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to provide the service, such as with your travel agent, invited trip participants, and our infrastructure vendors acting on our behalf. We may also share data when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Retention

We retain personal information as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention may vary by data type.

Your Choices

  • You can sign out at any time and manage profile/account settings in the app.
  • You can request account deletion from the mobile settings screen.
  • You can control push permissions in device-level settings.
  • You can control location permissions in device-level settings.

Children's Privacy

MagicHop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post updates here and revise the "Last updated" date.
